There are lots of ads for MBA programs all over the internet including some on my site, so I am not knocking the MBA, but I think anyone interested in pursuing an MBA should consider the issues raised by Henry Mintzberg in Managers Not MBAs...
Mintzberg argues that MBA programs are okay for what they are, but they shouldn't pretend to train students to be managers. According to Mintzberg, "You can't create a manager in a classroom."
